Sainz fastest as Alonso crashes on final morning in Barcelona
+ Carlos Sainz was fastest for Toro Rosso on an interrupted final morning of running the second pre-season test in Barcelona. Sainz topped the timesheets early in the morning with a lap of 1:25.684 on the soft tyre, before bolting on a set of Pirelli’s super-soft rubber and lowering the benchmark by eighth hundredths of a second to a 1:25.604. The Spaniard was top when the session was brought to a premature end following an accident for Fernando Alonso at Turn 4 in the McLaren. The double-world champion was fifth fastest before his unexplained late off.
