Rosberg fastest as Mercedes surges clear

– Nico Rosberg and Mercedes fired a warning shot to the rest of the Formula 1 field by comfortably setting the pace on the second day of the final pre-season test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.Having spent most of the winter on harder tyres, Rosberg used Softs to post a 1:22.729 – the fastest time of the Barcelona tests so far.The German's effort was over a second quicker than Williams rival Valtteri Bottas managed on the same compound earlier in the day.It was also 2.4s up on Lewis Hamilton's pole time at last year's Grand Prix, highlighting the performance gains Formula 1 appears to have made.Sauber's Felipe Nasr briefly led with a Soft tyre run shortly before lunch, but...
