Magnussen wanted Le Mans drive with father
– McLaren test and reserve driver Kevin Magnussen says he enquired over the possibility of racing alongside father Jan for Corvette at this year's Le Mans 24 Hours.Magnussen was left without a race seat after McLaren opted to retain Jenson Button alongside the returning Fernando Alonso, but he was able to sample the MP4-30 in testing as Alonso rests following his crash.After he lost his race seat Magnussen said he thought about the idea of racing with his father – who competed in Formula 1 in the late 1990s – at Le Mans, where the senior Magnussen has so far claimed four class wins."I asked my dad if he would ask Corvette if there was an available slot," said Magnussen....
