German GP officially dropped from 2015 calendar

The German Grand Prix has officially been dropped from the Formula 1 calendar following a World Motor Sport Council meeting decision on Friday. The German GP has been a feature of the F1 calendar every year since 1960 - though it ran under the European GP banner in 2007. The decision was made after both Hockenheim and the Nurburgring pulled out of hosting the event. The former due to time constraints and the latter due to financial worries following a recent takeover. "The German Grand Prix has been withdrawn as the CRH (Commercial Rights Holder) and promoter did not reach agreement," confirmed a statement.
