Lotus: ‘We look like we could be regular Q3 contenders'

Lotus technical director Nick Chester says the Enstone team are fully focussed on closing the gap to Williams, and says that he expects his drivers to be regulars in the top ten. Both Romain Grosjean & Pastor Maldonado made it into Q3 in Australia, although didn't get very far in the race thanks to Lap 1 retirements for both men. Despite this, the mood at Lotus is very positive due to the E23 appearing to be an altogether different beast to the troublesome E22 from last season. Chester explained that Lotus are ‘reasonably happy' with the initial performance of the car and says that ‘we look like we could be regular Q3 contenders'.
