Ricciardo optimistic ahead of Malaysian GP despite Melbourne setback

Daniel Ricciardo is looking ahead to the Malaysian Grand Prix around Kuala Lumpur’s Sepang International Circuit with optimism, despite Red Bull’s woeful start to the new season at Melbourne last time out. With engine-supplier Renault once again entering the year with mechanical gremlins plaguing their power units, Russian racer Daniil Kvyat failed to even make his way to the grid during the Australian Grand Prix after the Toro Rosso graduate was struck with a gearbox issue. Although Ricciardo managed to line-up on the grid and partake in the race, the Australian could only manage sixth – behind the Sauber of Felipe Nasr and a whole lap off of the leading Mercedes duo.
