Jorda says F1 series for women would be "fantastic"
Lotus development driver Carmen Jorda believes a Formula 1-style championship only for women would be a "fantastic" idea. Although the idea, proposed by Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone during the Malaysian Grand Prix, has received a mixed response, Jorda reckons it would be highly popular. Jorda believes the championship could help women get into motorsport, as she thinks men are trying to push female racers down. "Because they all dream of winning, and they believe that a woman cannot win in F1," she told the official Formula 1 website when asked why no more sponsors are pushing to have more women in F1.
