Kaltenborn surprised by Sauber’s qualifying performance at China

Sauber team principal Monisha Kaltenborn has described her team’s qualifying performance for the Chinese Grand Prix as “a little bit of a surprise”, especially after the team’s lap times during the third and final practice session where Marcus Ericsson and Felipe Nasr ended 13th and 14th respectively. However during the all-important qualifying hour the team managed to improve greatly, out-performing midfield rivals Toro Rosso and Force India by progressing through to the top ten shootout with both drivers for the first time since the 2013 United States Grand Prix.
