Grosjean handed Monaco grid penalty following gearbox change

The gearbox issue that blighted Romain Grosjean’s Spanish Grand Prix has cost the Frenchman even further, with the unit needing changing ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix, resulting in a five place grid penalty. The Lotus F1 Team driver suffered with a problem with his fourth gear during the race in Spain, with his engineers telling him over the pit-to-car radio to coast while changing through that gear to save the engine. But after investigating the problem, the team have been forced to change the gearbox, meaning the Frenchman will lose five places on the grid in Monaco, a track that is hard to overtake on.
