Kvyat boosted by Monaco qualifying performance

Daniil Kvyat is hoping that his F1 season can take a step forward after a strong qualifying run at the Monaco Grand Prix. The Russian put in a late lap to move up to fifth overall in the final phase of qualifying and will start just one spot position behind team-mate Daniel Ricciardo as Red Bull used Monaco's tortuous streets to its advantage. Ricciardo revealed that the team was able to bolt the maximum amount of downforce into its RB11s as outright speed was not a requirement of the car's Renault engine and Kvyat confirmed that progress had also be made with the V6, giving both drivers a more competitive package.
