‘Very, very special lap’ takes Perez to seventh

Sergio Perez says a 'very, very special lap' was responsible for his unexpected seventh place result in qualifying for the Monaco Grand Prix, the Mexican now firmly setting his sights on points. Having made relatively little impression on proceedings for Force India in the run up to qualifying, Perez had already impressed to sneak into Q3, but once there produced a remarkable performance on his one and only lap to out-qualify both Toro Rosso and Lotus for seventh.
