Magnussen: Something wrong if Vandoorne isn’t in F1

Kevin Magnussen says 'there would be something wrong' if GP2 Series leader and fellow McLaren protégé Stoffel Vandoorne didn't land an F1 drive next season. The Dane, who made his F1 debut with McLaren in 2014 after winning the Formula Renault 3.5 Championship over Vandoorne, has been forced onto the sidelines for 2015 in the wake of the team's decision to replace him with two-time world champion Fernando Alonso. Save for his surprise call up to replace the injured Alonso in Melbourne, Magnussen's role at McLaren has been limited to simulator work and presence at the events this year.
