FIA seeking new F1 team entry as soon as 2016
The FIA have invited prospective F1 teams to tender an application for an open slot on the grid, seeking a possible entry as early as 2016. The FIA website tonight unveiled plans to invite to tender another F1 outfit to join the field. With the 2015 grid consisting of 20 cars and financial struggles for several of the existing squads, the FIA are seeking 'sustainability and future success of the Formula One World Championship' by opening a selection process to identify a candidate team. The invitation says that the chosen team would enter at the 'start of 2016 or 2017″. A new F1 outfit is due to join the grid next season, when US racing legend Gene Haas lines up with his new Haas F1...
