Lowe: Mercedes error needs context

Mercedes executive technical director Paddy Lowe feels the error which denied Lewis Hamilton victory at the Monaco Grand Prix needs to be put into a sporting context. The reigning Formula 1 world champion looked on course to win on the streets of Monte Carlo but the decision by Mercedes chiefs to pit Hamilton while leading the race proved costly. Upon exiting the pits Hamilton found himself behind his team-mate Nico Rosberg and Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel, who had opted to stay out to gain track position.
