Wolff and Lowe reflect on mixed day for Mercedes

Toto Wolff and Paddy Lowe reflected upon their free practice fortunes in a fashion as mixed as the day's results: despite topping the time sheets in respective sessions, the Ferraris bumped Nico Rosberg into P4 in FP2, and Lewis Hamilton suffered both front and rear end damage after aquaplaning off at the hairpin and the car's subsequent recovery. 'That was a mixed bag today, like the weather. We had a strong first practice and looked competitive on the prime tyre. Then in FP2, we pulled the program forward to get as much running done as possible before the rain came,' Wolff said.
