Honda bosses 'understand' troubles

Although unsatisfied with Honda's results, motorsport boss Yasuhisa Arai insists the powers-that-be understand they are facing a 'very steep learning curve.' Partnering with McLaren at the beginning of this season, Honda entered F1's new 1.6-litre turbocharged V6 era a year behind their engine rivals. Dealing with many of the teething problems others faced last season, McLaren-Honda have scored just four points, courtesy of Jenson Button's eighth place at the Monaco GP. That race, though, was followed by dreadful showing at the Canadian GP where the team's efforts were blighted as both drivers retired.
