Verstappen enjoying rare benefit of experience
Max Verstappen has taken advantage of invaluable prior knowledge of the Red Bull Ring to turn in a top ten performance during free practice for the Austrian Grand Prix. The first of just four venues this season that he has previously experienced in a racing car during the European F3 Championship, the young Dutchman was eighth fastest in both sessions driving a slightly upgraded Scuderia Toro Rosso. Indeed, Verstappen believes he could have been faster had he not had traffic on his fastest lap and is confident about his chances heading to qualifying. I think the day started off well. We had some new updates, so we used the first practice to test them and I was quite happy with the session....
