Ricciardo brands home track hardest , salvages point

Daniel Ricciardo says he can take some pleasure from his fight-back to tenth place in the Austrian Grand Prix given the car's struggles around the Red Bull Ring. Despite it being Red Bull's home venue, the team has made no secret that it is considered one of its hardest on the calendar, which in turn contributed to the decision for Ricciardo and Daniil Kvyat to take engine penalties ahead of the race. Nonetheless, Ricciardo – having started 18th - was able to make the most of an alternative strategy that saw him run 50 of the 71 laps on the prime tyre, before a late dash with the option rubber.
