FIA plans to introduce engine cost cap

– Formula 1's governing body, the FIA, has vowed to address the cost of power units for supplied teams, admitting that it initially overlooked the issue.The switch from V8 engines to turbocharged V6 power units for 2014 led to a price hike for customer teams, with Marussia and Caterham entering administration.FIA President Jean Todt says a maximum cost should have been set out to prevent such an outcome, but that action is now being taken to reduce financial strain."If you take the engine, I agree that it's too expensive," Todt explained."Here, I take the responsibility of probably not having secured that it would be a maximum cost to the customers.
