Hamilton triumphs at Silverstone

Lewis Hamilton won the British GP on Sunday after overcoming a fast start from Williams and rain showers at Silverstone. Starting from pole position, the world champion was passed by both Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas at the lights and had to wait until the first pit stops to get back in front. He then built a lead of about 6s over Massa, with Bottas running third from Nico Rosberg. However, rain which arrived on lap 36 of the 52-lap race switched the order around. First of all, Rosberg was able to get past both Williams cars. He then closed up on Hamilton and took the lead when the latter made his second stop on lap 43.
