German GP future depends on 2016 success
George Seiler, managing director of the Hockenheimring, says the future of the German Grand Prix hinges on the success of next year's race. The track has alternated hosting the German Grand Prix with the Nurburgring since 2008, but neither could reach an agreement with Formula 1 for the 2015 season. In March it was confirmed that the German Grand Prix had been dropped from this year's schedule, meaning there would be no race in the country for the first time since 1960. It will return in 2016 on July 31 at the Hockenheimring, but Seiler says the future of the race will depend on a big turn-out next year.
