Renault ‘making plans to honour contracts' until 2017

More light has been shed on the future of the Renault /Red Bull relationship –  ironically after the French firm's CEO told media that no clear decision had yet been made and that he considered Red Bull to be more sponsors of the sport than constructors whilst speaking of the difficulties in aligning the two businesses. Renault's Cyril Abiteboul stated, ‘The status is unfortunately not very sexy to hear. It is that we continue to work and look at options.' One of those options edging closer is Renault's proposed buyout of the Lotus team, which, if successful will result in the Enstone team being rebranded as Renault for 2017.
