Pirelli issue terse statement about Spa tyre failures
Belgian Grand Prix – Clearly unhappy with comments made by Sebastian Vettel & Nico Rosberg after serious tyre failures over the Spa weekend, Pirelli have issued a tersely worded statement. Nico Rosberg suffered a tyre failure during practice on Friday at blanchimont, the fast sweeping left hander leading back to the pit complex. Luckily, the failure occurred in a spot that meant the German driver avoided hitting anything 'through pure luck'. Similarly, Sebastian Vettel suffered an explosive tyre failure on the penultimate lap of the race. The Ferrari driver was running third at the time, and was 28 laps into his stint.
