Lotus future unknown
Lotus has been in the midst of potential changes and scrutiny over the past week. The team’s financial status is in limbo due to the possible buyout from Renault. Unfortunately, its future as a full-fledged Renault team puts the current staff in a crisis. Development and funds have ceased as Formula 1 Chief Executive Bernie Ecclestone has reportedly sent an appropriate amount of funding to the British based team. He told the New York Times, “I thought I should cover the wages of the people there to make sure they were all right and so that Lotus would at least get to Spa and, hopefully, to Italy.” Lotus also was the subject of legal action; former driver Charles Pic accused the team...
