Alexander Rossi signs for Manor Marussia

Formula One team Manor Marussia has signed American driver Alexander Rossi to race in five of the seven remaining events this season, starting in Singapore this weekend. The 23-year-old Rossi will be the first American to compete in Formula One since Scott Speed in 2007. As well as Singapore, the team said in a statement Wednesday that Rossi will race in Japan, the United States, Mexico and Brazil. Rossi, who is also competing in the GP2 championship, will miss the races in Russia in October and Abu Dhabi in November.
