Ricciardo very happy with Singapore weekend

 XPB Images Daniel Ricciardo achieved his second podium of the year and his best result to date with a second position finish in Singapore behind Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel. On the back of a performance level since the start of the race weekend, Red Bull was aiming for an aggressive strategy and hoping to undercut Vettel by extending Ricciardo's first tyre stint, but a Virtual Safety Car deployment on lap 13 ruined the scheme. The Australian driver, whose priority was to keep his tyre degradation in check while maintaining the gap with Vettel, was left to chase his Ferrari counterpart all evening.
