Singapore track intruder could face six months in prison

A 27-year-old British man has been charged with committing a rash act after intruding the Marina Bay Street Circuit during Sunday's Singapore Grand Prix. Leader Sebastian Vettel reported on lap 37 of the race that there was a fan on the track, prompting the race director to deploy the safety car to ensure he could be safely removed. In CCTV footage shown to media after the race, the man is seen to amble across the track after jumping through a gap in the wall on the run down to Turn 8. Upon seeing the oncoming Vettel, he ran across to the inside wall before trying to take pictures on his smartphone. He then jumped over the nearby wall and was escorted away by security staff.
