New Pirelli deal done - Ecclestone

Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone says he has 'done a deal' with Pirelli to continue as the sport's tyre supplier until 2019. Ecclestone shook hands with Pirelli chairman Marco Tronchetti Provera live on BBC One as he made the announcement. But a Pirelli spokesman said he could not confirm that the company had beaten rival Michelin to the next contract, which runs from 2017-19. 'We should be very close to it. It is well on the road,' he said.
