Sainz rues brake failure after strong recovery

Red Bull/Getty Images Toro Rosso driver Carlos Sainz Jr. was left to rue a brake failure which robbed him of a good haul of points at the Russian Grand Prix. Sainz spent the bulk of Saturday in hospital following a high-speed crash in practice but the Spaniard returned to the cockpit of his STR10 for the race, starting from the back of the grid. Sainz picked his way through the midfield and held seventh position until a deteriorating brake issue pitched him into a spin at Turn 10, before he slid into the barriers at Turn 13.
