Magnussen confirms McLaren split

– Kevin Magnussen has confirmed that he will part ways with McLaren at the end of the season.Magnussen graduated to Formula 1 with McLaren in 2014, but dropped back to a reserve role for the 2015 season as the outfit opted to retain Jenson Button to partner the returning Fernando Alonso.Magnussen had hoped to re-claim a McLaren race seat next year, but both Button – on a one-year extension – and Alonso – who penned a three-year deal from 2015 – will be staying on."Yes," Magnussen told Motorsport.com, when asked to confirm reports that he will be leaving the team."When the date of McLaren's option on me passed, I was kind of waiting to hear from them."I...
