US Grand Prix qualifying delayed by 30 minutes
Qualifying for the United States Grand Prix has been delayed by 30 minutes due to heavy rain. Final practice took place earlier on Saturday in tricky conditions, but the weather became worse throughout the session. Intense showers sweeping over the track prior to qualifying, which was scheduled to start at 13:00pm local time, has made the conditions even worse at the Circuit of the Americas. The track previously delayed the opening of its gates to midday due to safety concerns, following the heavy rain. It was announced prior to qualifying that qualifying has been delayed by 30 minutes.
