US Grand Prix Qualifying postponed due to sever rain.
Despite the FIA pushing allowing FP3 to go ahead, race control decided to postpone qualifying to Sunday morning, the same day of the US Grand Prix. Torrential downpours have been an a permanent fixture of the USGP so far this weekend, a by product of hurricane Patricia which the west coast of Mexico is currently being subjected to. It was at first rumoured that the grid would be made up from the FP3 positioning, however it was decided qualifying would at least be attempted. Qualifying started by being delayed ‘indefinitely' with race control continuously delaying the start of Q1 by thirty minutes periodically.
