Massa facing post-race tyre overheating probe

Williams faces a post-race investigation after Felipe Massa's tyres were found to be too hot on the grid ahead of the start of the Brazilian Grand Prix. Teams are not allowed to overheat their tyres in the warming blankets, and the FIA has imposed a maximum limit of 110-Centigrade for the rubber. However, checks that were conducted on the grid found the tyres to be at 137c – 27c over the limit. Despite being overheated, the tyre pressures were found to be just 0.1 psi above the minimum laid down by Pirelli and the FIA. As a result of the matter, Williams has been summoned to see the stewards after the Interlagos race (at 4.15pm) to help with the investigation.
