Hamilton: I felt the tyres would last

Lewis Hamilton believes he could have completed the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on a one-stop strategy as his tyres were 'still fine' at the end the second stint. For the third race in a row Hamilton was beaten to the chequered flag by his Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg, but as was the case in Brazil, the triple World Champion once again questioned the team's strategy. Having been told no straightaway when asked to change things around at Interlagos, Merc gave him some leeway at the Yas Marina Circuit. Instead of pitting him straight after Rosberg on lap 32, Hamilton went eight laps longer and he enquired about doing a one-stopper or switching to the supersofts instead of the softs. However, he...
