Ferrari granted permission to supply year-old engines

Following today's meeting of the World Motorsport Council in Paris, Ferrari have been granted permission to supply one-year old power units in 2016. The meeting was set up to discuss a 'pressing issues' in the sport regarding governance, power units and cost reduction and an array of technical and sporting changes have been announced. On the subject of power units, the FIA have granted permission for manufacturers to be able to re-homologate previous versions of power unit, allowing submissions for more than one specification of power unit. This means that from 2016 Mercedes, Ferrari, Renault and Honda can all supply older versions of their power unit, should they choose to do so....
