Maldonado expects better from Renault
As Pastor Maldonado gears up for a return to Renault power, the F1 driver believes lessons have been learnt and that this year will be easier than 2014. Lotus last used Renault power in 2014, the first season in the new 1.6-litre V6 era, but the year was anything but a success. The team struggled with both reliability and pace, finishing eighth in the championship with a measly ten points. That prompted a swap to Mercedes engines, which yielded better results. However with Renault having purchased the team late last year, Maldonado will again be using Renault power in 2016. This time around he reckons it will be better than in 2014.
