F1 manufacturers agree engine cost cap

– Formula 1's manufacturers have agreed to significantly reduce customer engine supply costs, and ensure that no team is left without a power unit, in return for keeping the current V6 turbos until at least 2020.Mercedes, Ferrari, Renault and Honda were given until last Friday to submit proposals to the FIA and, following meetings of the F1 Strategy Group and F1 Commission in Geneva, progress has been made.Details are still being finalised, with the new regulations due to come into force in 2018.More to follow.
