Alonso named as European GP ambassador

– Organisers of the Baku European Grand Prix have announced that Fernando Alonso will act as an ambassador for the inaugural event, which will take place in June.Alonso will visit Baku, capital of Azerbaijan, for two days next week to observe progression of the Baku City Circuit, and will participate in a number of promotional activities.Alonso is the most recent victor of the European Grand Prix, having triumphed at Valencia's final race in 2012."I am thrilled be chosen as an ambassador for the European Grand Prix," said the McLaren driver."It is a real honour to be the first F1 driver to visit Baku and inspect the new circuit facilities.
