Alonso: Good start, good sign
Fernando Alonso was happy with his Friday running in Melbourne as 29 laps in his MP4-30 yielded 'no issues and that's a good start and a good sign.' Unlike last season when McLaren struggled to get any mileage under their belt, this year they put in a solid showing in the pre-season and that continued into Melbourne on Friday. Alonso racked up 29 laps to go with Jenson Button's 29 while his 1:39.895 put him sixth on the timesheets, one place ahead of his British team-mate.
