Elimination qualifying to remain in Bahrain

Qualifying will remain unchanged for the Bahrain Grand Prix Formula 1’s controversial elimination qualifying format will now continue at the Bahrain Grand Prix after bosses failed to reach an agreement. The new qualifying format endured an embarrassing debut at Albert Park which resulted in teams holding a meeting with the FIA less than 24 hours after the session, where it was voted to revert to the old system. After qualifying ended without any cars on track for the final three and a half minutes, the system was universally slammed by the industry and fans.
