Rosberg hopeful tyre gamble will pay off

– Chinese Grand Prix pole-sitter Nico Rosberg is hopeful that his tyre gamble in qualifying will pay off during the opening stint of the race.Rosberg was the only driver to progress from Q2 on the Soft compound tyre, as the rest of his rivals used the quicker Super Soft rubber.As per the current rules, Q3 participants must start the race on the tyres that they set their best times on in the second qualifying phase.Mercedes' Paddy Lowe said ahead of the event that he expects Super Soft runners to pit inside five laps, and Rosberg expects to benefit."I haven't gone into the strategy stuff so much, but I think it's going to be a good thing," Rosberg explained during the...
