Hamilton to start last after ERS problem

Mercedes AMG Petronas Lewis Hamilton will start from the back of the grid at the Chinese Grand Prix after his Mercedes W07 Hybrid developed a problem with the Energy Recovery System in qualifying. Hamilton, who completed only an installation lap in the damp final practice session, detected the problem on his out lap and returned to the pits. Hamilton ventured back on track but Mercedes was unable to repair the problem and he recovered to the pit lane, leaving him unable to set a time.
