Verstappen buoyed by China recovery

– Toro Rosso driver Max Verstappen says he was stunned to be able to recover to a points-paying position at the Chinese Grand Prix after slipping back during the first round of stops.The timing of the Safety Car period early in the race meant that Toro Rosso had to double stop its drivers, with Carlos Sainz Jr. ahead of Verstappen on track, and thus being serviced first for fresh tyres.Verstappen was nonetheless able to recover to finish in eighth position, within sight of Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton, after passing Valtteri Bottas during the final laps."At the start, I had a good first reaction but then I wasn't able to keep my position unfortunately," he said."From then...
