Brake failure causes Grosjean to retire

Spanish Grand Prix – Romain Grosjean was forced to retire from the Spanish round on Sunday due to a brake failure. The Frenchman made up two places from his starting position of fourteenth before a damaged front wing brought him into the pits and dropped him to eighteenth. Following a trip through the gravel at Turn 7, Grosjean reported that his brakes had gone and parked his VF-16 in the garage for his first retirement of the season. Grosjean admitted that he is still struggling with the balance of the car, which appears to have drastically altered after a sixth and fifth place finish in the opening two races in Australia and Bahrain. “The car wasn’t having a good day,” he said,...
