Drain cover issue cause of FP1 stoppage

Monaco Grand Prix – A loose drain cover was the cause of the early end to the first practice session in Monte Carlo. With less than ten minutes remaining before the chequered flag, the Virtual Safety Car was deployed due to an incident in the first sector of the track. Nico Rosberg was circulating slowly, attempting to get back to the pits with a left rear puncture, while Jenson Button was trundling back with a right front puncture on his McLaren. The red flag was shown moments later, as it became evident the cause of the issue was not a collision between the pair, or a mechanical problem or mistake.
