With three minutes of the first free practice remaining, the red flag appeared due to a loose manhole cover and Rosberg’s car appeared to kick up a manhole cover at the bottom of the hill at Turn 1, and its causing German’s to suffer a left-rear puncture. Jenson Button, following the Mercedes driver, then clattered into the dislodged piece of metal, causing significant damage to the front of his McLaren and also offered a puncture. FIA race director Charlie Whiting immediately reached on to the scene, before repair work...
