Hamilton fends off Rosberg for fifth Canada pole

Canadian Grand Prix – Lewis Hamilton was able to fend off team mate Nico Rosberg in the battle for pole in Canada, which saw him take the top spot for the fifth time in Montreal. His time of 1:12.812 was just six hundredths of a second quicker than Rosberg; with the gap not stretching much more than that throughout the qualifying session. A close race between the Mercedes duo is set up for Sunday. Sebastian Vettel was third, setting a time less than two tenths off Hamilton in a last gasp at the end of Q3.
