Haryanto may break his fast for race

Rio Haryanto, Indonesia’s first Formula One driver and a strict Muslim, is considering breaking his religious fast on Sunday on safety grounds ahead of racing in the Canadian Grand Prix. Haryanto has been following the requirements of Ramadan by not eating or drinking water between dawn and dusk, according to media reports. His manager Piers Hunnisett was quoted by The Mirror newspaper saying that worries about dehydration may make it a safety issue. "He has been following his faith in Montreal this week but we will see what the advice of the team doctors is," Hunnisett was quoted saying.
