Soft and mediums the popular choice for Silverstone

British Grand Prix – Pirelli have revealed the drivers’ choices of tyre allocations for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, with the soft and medium compounds proving to be most popular. Both Mercedes have opted for seven sets of the yellow-marked soft tyre, five of the white-marked medium and just one of the orange-marked hard. Both Williams have selected the same, as have the McLarens, Renaults and Manors. Haas’ Esteban Gutierrez has made the same selection, contrary to his team mate Romain Grosjean who has one more set of the hard compound and one less soft.
