Magnussen escapes penalty for Kvyat block

British Grand Prix – Renault's Kevin Magnussen will start the race from P16, having escaped punishment for blocking Daniil Kvyat in Q2. Magnussen had made it through Q1 despite apparently exceeding track limits, due to the short time gap between Q1 & Q2 preventing race stewards from deciding quickly enough whether or not to delete his fastest time. McLaren's Jenson Button was the victim of this decision, but Magnussen wasn't able to capitalise any further on getting through into Q2. With just scrubbed tyres available, Magnussen went out in Q2 to set any sort of laptime, covering the possibility of other drivers having problems or being unable to set a time. As a result of his...
